St Hilda’s East is a vibrant hub committed to fostering early childhood development. We take pride in our Stay and Play and Early Learning sessions where children are encouraged to explore, learn, and grow in a safe and nurturing environment. As we continue to expand our programmes, we are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for early years education to join our team as a volunteer. The opportunity will offer the chance for the volunteer to positively impact children's lives, develop valuable skills in early childhood education, and contribute to community well-being. Ideally, we would like the volunteer to help for 3.5 hours on Tuesday and Friday mornings between 9.15am and 12.45pm. Requirements: • Interest in pursuing a career in early years education • Currently pursuing or already possess qualifications in early years education • Genuine love for working with children and supporting their development. To ensure the safety and well-being of the children in our community centre, all our volunteers must undergo a mandatory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
As an Early Years Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and engaging environment for our young learners. Your responsibilities may include: • Assist with Display: Collaborate with our educators to create visually stimulating and educational displays that promote a love for learning among children • Early Arrival & Clear Up: Arrive early to help set up and eagerly and Clear up the session afterwards • Play and Interact with Kids: Engage in interactive play with children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive skills in accordance with the Early Years curriculum • Positive Interaction with Parents: Build positive relationships with parents, creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring effective communication about the child's progress and experiences • Adherence to Rules and Best Practices: Follow established rules and adhere to the best practices outlined in the Early Years curriculum, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children • Assist Coordinator in Daily Activities: Support our educators in implementing age-appropriate learning activities, helping children explore and discover new concepts • Assist with the Admin and Inputting of Data: Help with data inputting of registration forms
