Support you will receive

We are looking for friendly, compassionate, and committed volunteers to befriend adults with learning disabilities. We will pair you with one of our clients and then you will visit them in their home as well as encouraging trips out to the local area. It might be that you listen to music together, have a chat, go out for a cup of tea or a walk in the park. If you volunteer with us, you'll know that your 2 hours every 2 weeks are making a huge difference to an isolated, vulnerable person.

• The ability to empathise with vulnerable adults • Good listening skills • Trustworthy and reliable • Understanding of confidentiality and respect for people’s privacy • Understanding of professional boundaries • Respect for individuals, regardless of their ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, gender reassignment, sexual orientation and marital status

Time Commitment

A 2-hours visit every fortnight for at least 6 months. Weekends visit are possible but you'll need to be available on a weekday for your training (3 hours) and your first visit.
