Description

The Tower of London welcomes nearly 3 million visitors a year from around the world. Our central volunteering team is about to undertake a number of significant projects which would benefit from the support of volunteers to help develop our work. As a Project Development Volunteer you will assist our Volunteer Manager with a range of project duties which will help develop volunteering at Historic Royal Palaces (HRP). You will be a good ambassador for HRP and work well in a team with other volunteers and HRP staff. Key tasks will include: - Supporting a range of projects being undertaken to develop volunteering at HRP. - Undertaking research where required. - Helping to produce a volunteers' newsletter. - Helping to drive new initiatives and interaction with our fantastic volunteers. - Attending meetings where appropriate. You will be volunteering at the Tower of London (or remotely). Security restrictions mean that this role is only open to volunteers aged 18+ You will need to be available to volunteer for a minimum of 1 day a week on an ongoing basis.

Why these skills are required

Ideally you will: - Have experience working on projects and initiatives in a volunteering, educational or employment role. - Enjoy writing articles and doing research. - Be a team player with a friendly manner and a proactive can-do attitude. - Be IT literate and have good communication skills. - Have an interest in volunteering, history or working in the charity or heritage sectors. The role is restricted to volunteers aged 18+ due to security rules in HRP premises. Two references will be required and taken for all volunteers in this role, before they can begin volunteering duties. Ideally, one reference should be from someone who knows you in a formal capacity (through work, volunteering, education, etc).

Time Commitment

Ideally at least one day per week on an ongoing basis. This could be in part worked from home and in part from our offices at the Tower of London.
