Description

London Jaguars Community Association, located in Mile End, has a rich history of serving the local community through various social, educational, and cultural activities. As part of our ongoing efforts to support and engage the community, we are seeking dedicated volunteers to join our Play Worker team. Project Description: The Play Worker project aims to provide a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for children in the local area. Volunteers will facilitate and supervise play activities, ensuring that all children can participate in enjoyable and educational experiences. This initiative is a key component of our broader community engagement and development efforts. Volunteer’s Main Tasks: - Plan and organize a variety of play activities, including arts and crafts, games, and outdoor play. - Supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being. - Foster an inclusive environment where all children feel welcome and valued. - Communicate with parents and guardians about their children's participation and progress. - Assist in setting up and cleaning up activity areas. - Collaborate with other volunteers and staff to create a cohesive and supportive team environment. Who You Will Be Volunteering With: Volunteers will work alongside other Play Workers, community centre staff, and occasionally external partners who support our programs. This is a team-oriented role that values collaboration and mutual support. Time Commitment

This is during the school holidays: Summer, Christmas and Easter. We are currently recruiting volunteers for the Summer holidays - 5th to 24th August. The volunteer shifts are either 10am - 2pm or 2pm - 6pm, Monday to Friday. You will volunteer for at least one shift per week, but ideally more than one.
