Description

As an Events Assistant, you will be part of the Poplar HARCA Community Development Team and have the opportunity to experience first-hand what goes into managing and running an event. This volunteer role would be particularly beneficial to anyone wishing to enter a career in hospitality, event or venue management. Our series of one-off events take place at various locations around Tower Hamlets between Monday and Sunday. Volunteer timings are flexible. Tasks will vary widely on the day but will include everything from administration, managing crowds, health & safety checks and hands-on-help to set up and take down of events. Description of Tasks: - Supporting setting up and closing the event - Facilitating activities on the day - Working with residents and other professionals - Welcoming, meeting and talking to people of all ages and backgrounds - Managing stations of activities - Assist in ensuring events are run smoothly and clients have everything they need - Fulfil any other duties considered reasonable as directed by the staff team All volunteers are required to contribute positively to providing a safe, creative, inspiring and fun environment to meet the need of those attending a HARCA event.

- To be confident interacting with everyone and enjoy being part of a community event. - This role would suit someone who is happy to get stuck in and learn as they go. - Please note that this is a hands on role which will require you to move around the event, with occasional lifting.
