Description

This rewarding volunteering opportunity would suit anyone wishing to pursue a career in the health sector, or anyone from the community wishing to support people with serious illness. If you are looking for a 1:1 patient contact volunteering experience, or want to engage in a really meaningful project, then this could be the ideal opportunity for you. As a member of the Empowered Living Team (ELT), your role will be to assist in the delivery of therapy to patients in Tower Hamlets, Newham, and the City & Hackney, to enable them to live their lives with as much independence and quality of life as possible. This may include tasks such as: supervising a patient to do an exercise programme, or practise physical activities, talking to patients about some of their worries/concerns/thoughts, or providing a patient with massage/relaxation. Applicants will need to: - Be over 18 years of age - Complete an interview and relevant criminal record checks - Complete 4 days of training - Willing to volunteer for a minimum of 2 hours per week for at least 6 months.

Time Commitment
