Description

The exciting new Wilson’s School Junior Park Run is a free, fun and friendly weekly 2K event and will be held every Sunday at 9am. This parkrun is expected to launch during the school summer holidays 2024. The run is put on for 4-14 year olds but our volunteers need to be adults. The Core Team does not need to be DBS checked. Examples of Core Team Volunteer roles include: First Timers Welcome - providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for first timers and visitors by describing parkrun, its inclusiveness and ethos, and highlighting course-specific information. Timekeeper(s) - recording the finish times of all participants at the events (using the Virtual Volunteer app). Marshalls - give directions and ensure the safety of the course and cheerleading. Warm-up leader - taking everyone through a short pre-defined warm-up routine. Tail Walker - sets off at the start of the event and walks at the back of the field. A tail walker is entitled to receive both a volunteer credit and a walk/run credit.
