Volunteers from the League of Friends are based in the hospital corridors, to be a visible source of guidance. You will be answering questions and giving directions to patients and visitors. Hostesses and hosts are easily identifiable by their 'VOLUNTEER' lanyards. "A ready smile and a helping hand is always on offer from our team of Hostesses. They will guide or advise patients, visitors and sometimes even staff to wear they need to be. Many worries and fears are relieved by their unfailing support and friendliness." If interested in this role please contact: Val Brundle, theleagueoffriends@hotmail.com, and apply through their website: https://lofsth.org.uk/services/ quoting you found out about it through Volunteer Centre Sutton.
Good communication skills. Friendly, and approachable. A good sense of direction, so you can direct other people (you will need to get to know the hospital layout).
This is an opportunity to be part of a cheerful and enthusiastic team, with the satisfaction that you are helping those who may be struggling with the stresses of visiting the hospital.
Flexible, to be discussed.
