Description

Do you like meeting people, could you help someone to break down the barrier of filing in benefit application forms? We are looking to recruit Volunteer form filling advisers to support residents. Whilst most clients can complete various benefit forms themselves, others may need some extra guidance. Many local residents often feel overwhelmed when faced with the task of completing essential forms required to access benefits. Volunteer Centre Sutton is collaborating with Citizens Advice Bureau and the Together for Sutton partnership. Together we are developing a volunteer project aimed at connecting willing volunteers with residents in need. These dedicated volunteers will provide assistance in completing the necessary forms, ensuring that individuals can access the benefits they are rightfully entitled to. If you're interested in participating, the first training session will commence on July 12th, with additional sessions planned for the future. We are looking to recruit Volunteer form filling advisers to support clients. You will need to be able to commit to a minimum of 2 to 2.5 hours per week. Full training will be given by Citizens Advice Sutton. Main duties and responsibilities include: - Helping by writing to complete forms for welfare benefits and similar entitlements which may take up to 2.5 hours depending on the situation or the clients - Photocopying the form, if the client needs a copy of it - Photocopying clients medical records and repeat prescription list to include in the Form that is filled. - Providing a free, confidential, impartial and independent service to the public.
