;
We have several ponds across our sites as they play a crucial role on promoting biodiversity in our gardens. We particularly need help maintaining our biggest pond in our flagship Red Cross Garden from April to October. You will be taking part in our regular gardening session on Tuesdays and focusing on pond maintenance from April to October.
We welcome applications from anyone who wants to get involved – previous gardening, pond or volunteering experience isn’t necessary; just enthusiasm and the willingness to get stuck in! We endeavour to make our volunteering opportunities accessible for all.
Becoming a pond volunteer will allow you to gain experience in maintaining ponds, a vital feature in any green space that promotes biodiversity and wildlife. Getting outdoors and being in nature and green spaces can also improve your mental and physical health and well being. You will have the opportunity to meet new people and work within a friendly team, all with a goal of improving the local community! We like to reward our volunteers with trips, picnics and talks to say tank for their hard work and offer further opportunities for learning.
We would need to volunteers to join our regular gardening session at Red Cross Garden from 10am to 1pm, although we can have some flexibility with the times.
