Befriending - Make a regular visit or telephone call to people who are unable to leave their home and socialise. New Befriending volunteers have a training session on ways of managing the relationship with a focus on boundaries for both the Befriender and the Befriendee.
Volunteering is flexible and you do not need to make a regular commitment, you can help when you are available. However, we ask that Befrienders make a commitment to support clients on a regular weekly or fortnightly basis. Please note that volunteering for HANDs is subject to two satisfactory references and a DBS check which HANDs will cover.
