Role Detail

Description

The role consists of: • Volunteering at HUK a minimum of one half-day (4 hours) each week. • Providing accurate and timely support to those using the service. • Supporting queries by providing appropriate information on support services. • Complying with HUK's case-management procedures, training program and other relevant policies and procedures. You will be providing advocacy support for people impacted by hoarding behaviour who may be facing a variety of situations including legal, financial, psychological and discriminatory abuse/neglect. You will be working with trained colleagues to alleviate housing, mental health, benefits and other problems experienced by HUK’s participants.

What skills are required for this role
Counselling

Why these skills are required

• Students currently undertaking a degree in sociology, health and social care, law, or social work. • Trainees/ professionals with interest/experience in mental health, housing, social, leagal • The ability to work sensitively and professionally with people facing difficult circumstances.

What is in it for you

Free training on hoarding behaviour, advocacy and other relevant areas will be provided. Free mandatory individual supervision.

Time Commitment

Four hours a week for 20 weeks.
