Manor Gardens is seeking compassionate and reliable Volunteer Befrienders to provide companionship and support to individuals in our community who may be experiencing loneliness or social isolation. As a Volunteer Befriender, you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being and quality of life of those you befriend through regular visits or calls, engaging conversations, and encouragement to participate in social activities.
Empathy and Patience: Demonstrate understanding and patience, with a caring attitude. Strong Communication: Possess excellent verbal communication skills to engage effectively with individuals. Reliability: Show commitment and consistency in scheduling regular interactions. Confidentiality: Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of the individuals you befriend. Positive Attitude: Exhibit a cheerful and encouraging demeanour to uplift and support the individual.

Training and Support: Induction Training: Comprehensive training provided to prepare you for the role. Ongoing Support: Regular check-ins and support from Manor Gardens’ staff. Resources: Access to relevant training, materials and resources to assist you in your role. Expenses: travel expenses paid for any travel incurred for face-to-face appointments
