Description

1. Assist with gardening tasks, such as planting, watering, weeding, pruning, and harvesting, based on their preferences and physical abilities. 2. Provide guidance and encouragement to older adults in planning and designing garden layouts, selecting suitable plants, and caring for their outdoor spaces. 3. Collaborate with older adults to create accessible and age-friendly garden features, such as raised beds, container gardens, or adaptive gardening tools, to accommodate mobility limitations or disabilities. 4. Foster social interaction and community engagement.

Time Commitment

We offer flexible scheduling for volunteers and will accommodate their availability and ensure that support is accessible when needed. 2. Volunteer Availability: You can determine your availability alongside our Gardening coordinator before a gardening visit. 3. Session Duration: Sessions can range from short, focused tasks (e.g., 1-2 hours) or longer gardening tasks depending on the state of the garden (e.g., 2-3 hours). 4. Frequency: This may depend on the demand for assistance, the number of individuals seeking support, and the capacity of the organization to coordinate volunteer schedules.
