Description

Together Better is a Volunteer Centre Hackney project that aims to lighten the load on GP surgeries and encourage patients into activities that will benefit their health and well being, by supporting them to build inclusive and sustainable relationships and overall healthier lives. Together Better Well Street Surgery is looking for an exercise-based volunteer who will deliver a weekly class or a fixed block of sessions to well street patients and residents in our community spaces. This would ideally be something like beginner aerobics, seated exercise, dance based fun movement-based activities that will encourage participants who might have not previously been engaged in activeness to get fit and health. Duties and responsibility: - Signing individuals into the session when they arrive at the session - Facilitating and leading the activity/session - To answer and questions or queries from participants - Provide a welcoming and encouraging environment - Open to working with a variety of individuals with different needs and abilities. - Willing to undertake training/induction for the role - Willing to undertake a DBS check Skills and Attributes: - Ability to organise a weekly session for participants - Good communication and interpersonal skills - Interest in engaging a community and supporting individuals in making a difference to their lives - Ability to lead/manage a session for individuals - Previous experience of leading/facilitating an exercise class is desirable but not necessary - Able to commit to running a session once a week/fortnight.
