Description

Turning Point, working in partnership with Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest and Antidote, provide the City and Hackney Recovery service.  The service is based in each of City and Hackney’s neighbourhoods in order to be accessible, local and inclusive.  A full integrated service, shaped by the community needs and voices of service users, carers, families, communities, all staff and volunteers will contribute to recovery, social inclusion and improving the quality of life of all our service users in the City of London and Hackney borough. The service has three elements:  Out There, Everywhere- specialist outreach, in reach and engagement; Building Blocks- low, medium and hi intensity support pathways; and Get Connected- building on our local, person and shared assets to provide recovery capital and peer support. Volunteer at a busy drug and alcohol recovery centre, helping with day to day tasks, group work, and client support. Frequent opportunities to progress! Join as a volunteer and you won’t just enjoy the opportunity to gain valuable experience, you will have the chance to really give something back to your community, as you contribute to the day to day running of our service. Main Responsibilities Here, you’ll support the team with the successful delivery of various interventions to our service users, including one to one work, you may be asked to escort clients to appointments within the community and attend property viewings with them. Each day you’ll liaise with managers and the project workers on site. About us Why Turning Point? Why these skills are required

The Ideal Candidate We are looking for a confident communicator who can prioritise their workload as a volunteer. While you do not need any experience within substance misuse, a background in customer service would be a great advantage. Above all you will need to be computer literate, have the skills to multi-task and be able to bring a naturally positive disposition to our team.
