The Salvation Army is an international church and charity serving in over 130 countries worldwide. Based in Mare Street, our church, community hub and charity shop are places of welcome for all. It’s important that applicants for this role are friendly and welcoming to all, as the primary elements of this role are to welcome and register families, carers and children attending our toddler groups.
Volunteers for this role must be willing to attend safeguarding training as necessary, and they must also understand the importance of boundaries.
All volunteers receive an induction and relevant training to their role before starting. Volunteers also receive regular one-to-one support sessions, opportunities for face-to-face training as well online learning. We offer many courses to our volunteers, including food hygiene level 2, courses on health and safety, equality & diversity, and many other courses.
We expect a minimum of 90 minutes per volunteering session.
