Description

Reach Out Befriender Role: To support an Autistic child, young person or adult and their family. Helping them to gain confidence, new skills, reduce isolation and become more engaged with their local community. Resources for Autism is a dynamic and practical organisation providing services for Autistic children, young people and adults and for their families and carers. Volunteers are an integral part of our service delivery and the support they provide through our Reach Out service makes an invaluable positive impact on the lives of the people they support.

Why these skills are required

Skills and Experiences: Previous experience of working with people with additional needs is not required, we are looking for the following qualities and skills: 1. Reliability and Resilience 2. Enthusiasm and a creative approach to solving problem and ideas for practical activities. 3. A non – judgemental approach in working with others 4. Effective Communication skills and a professional approach to volunteering 5. Confidence in working with new people and situations
