Energy Garden is looking for volunteers to join us at our station garden at Rectory Road Station. Energy Garden supports communities across London to build and maintain community gardens on Overground stations. This is a great way to meet your neighbours, build community and beautify your station with a community garden. We have regular sessions in our gardens and they are open to anyone, no previous gardening experience is required. We organise sessions through WhatsApp groups where you'll also be able to stay up-to-date with the latest happenings in the garden and interact with the other volunteers. Rectory Road station has 200m2 of trackside space, including a gravel pathway, two pallet composters, and four planters on the platform.
No gardening experience is necessary. We are looking for people who would like to get involved in their local community and garden.
- Community cohesion- make meaningful connections with your neighbours. - Improved health in your community- urban gardens improve air quality and biodiversity in the local area. - A more beautiful commute- gardens turn grey train platforms into lively, engaging places. - Gardening skills- low-level exercise and fun in the sun help keep you active.
There is no commitment requirement, you can be involved as much or as little as you like in your garden.
