Volunteers will take part in the preparations leading up to the community carnival road show. You will mainly contribute to the making and decorating of body costumes for the carnival events As part of the creative team, you will get the chance to contribute to the artistic production process of costumes. Volunteers interested in the fashion industry not only get to hone their skills, but they also get the chance to develop their creative portfolio. Main duties: Sewing, using a domestic sewing machine. Over locking is desirable but not essential. Cutting patterns, Assembling costumes, Decorating costumes, Take part in the creative decision making process.
Applicants should be excellent team players and have good organisations skills. Must be able to operate a domestic sewing machine. The ability to operate an over locker is desirable but not essential as training is provided. Cutting patterns, Assembling costumes, organise work-load and decorating costumes, take part in the creative decision making process. To make the most of your experience at Jamboulay, you should be a dedicated person committed to the project for at least 1 day a week or 2-4 hours on the selected days, of your choice, between 10.30 - 4pm Mon to Wed Wed and Fri 5pm to 7pm
You will be given free carnival skills training on how to assemble costumes and the opportunity to experience the Notting-hill and Hackney carnival parade, the opportunity to develop skills in costume designs for carnivals which will assist us in future projects and development
