Role Detail

Description

Love Soup Café Host - support the team in creating a warm, welcoming environment. You’ll welcome guests and direct them to the food and activities on offer. You will also serve food, share a meal with our guests, encourage conversation and tidy up throughout the day.

Why these skills are required

Tasks will include: - Provide a friendly face to welcome guests to the café. - Record information regarding the number of guests and frequency of use of the service (1st time users, semi-regular, weekly users). - Discreetly determine need – fresh food, pantry items, other services - Welcome guest to enjoy fresh food, offer fresh food/pantry items via order form, signpost to other support services. - Highlight to guest crafts/games on offer and direct to the Crafts/Games team. - Ensure that children are accompanied by an adult (4children max to 1 responsible adult). - Attend Thursdays 12:00 -17:30 or timeshare the role on a rota. When unavailable inform volunteer coordinator as soon as possible to arrange cover. - Maintain a positive, calm, and welcoming atmosphere.

Volunteers public transport (bus) expenses will be covered where necessary. Time Commitment

This role requires a minimum of 3 hours and up to 6 hours a week on Thursdays. The commitment can be from 1-4 times a month in rotation with other volunteers.
