Description

Youth Club Volunteers assist with the delivery at our youth club for young people with needs, and their siblings. This Youth Club helps young people with complex medical needs and/or special educational needs to build confidence and develop independence and life skills. Youth Club Volunteers assist the Activities Lead to deliver our youth club for these young people and their siblings. What will you do? - Assist with various sports and leisure activities (e.g. table tennis, bowling, climbing), supporting the young people attending the club to participate - Work with young people 1:1 or in small groups - Help set up and clear away at the beginning and end of the sessions - Participate in a briefing and debriefing session before & after the club to help evaluate the skills, strengths and weaknesses of the young people after each session - Help with any special projects the young people would like to do - Attend initial training (half day) - Attend a two-hour supervision monthly - Liaise with the Activities Lead in case of questions/difficulties - Follow The Maypole Project policies & guidelines at all times whilst volunteering.

Time Commitment

Youth club takes place on Thursday evenings 5.15pm to 6.30pm Ideally we are looking for volunteers who are interested in volunteering every week. We are happy to discuss other arrangements with individual volunteers.
