Events Volunteers and/or Community Fundraising Volunteers and/or Sale Event Day Helpers and/or Traffic Marshalls
Events Volunteers: Throughout the course of the year, Foal Farm organises from three to five fundraising events that are undertaken onsite. Fundraising events provide a large part of our income for Foal Farm, so it is crucial that these events are as successful as possible. Volunteers are needed to help with setting up at the start of the day, clearing up at the end of the day, collecting entrance fees, running the Foal Farm stalls, marshalling children’s activities & rides, serving food & drink, taking bucket collections and much more. Our events run from 11.00am-5.00pm, with volunteers undertaking either an 11.00am-2.00pm or a 2.00pm-5.00pm shift. Volunteers can choose which shift they would like to do, and what area or stall they would like to support. Community Fundraising Volunteers: Foal Farm engages at external events & functions within the local community not only to raise funds, but to also to raise awareness. Volunteers will be offered the chance to attend fayres/festivals/fetes with a stall, or make a collection at shopping centres or supermarkets, to be a guest speaker at social groups/schools, to attend fundraising events organised to raise funds for Foal Farm, and much more. Volunteers will be asked if they would like to attend any event we are aware of. Sale Event Day Helpers: On every last Sunday of the month our on-site Charity Shops undertake their Sale Event Day. As well as the on-site Charity Shops being open, we put on a number of extra stalls located outside the Charity Shop and along the main driveway. Volunteers are needed to help with setting-up & tidying, taking entrance donations and running the extra stalls. Our Sale Event Day opens from 1.30pm-4.30pm. Traffic Marshalls: Foal Farm is accessed by a single track drive, and once on site we have a limited amount of parking available. So we need volunteers (with the use of radios) to help manage the single track drive as well as manage the entering/exiting of cars onto Jail Lane. We also require volunteers to help direct, park and manage visitors once they have entered Foal Farm. Traffic and Car Parking Marshalls are needed for all our fundraising events which run from 11.00am-5.00pm. However, because this is a busy role, we ask volunteers to undertake one-hour shifts (volunteers are able to undertake a longer period of time if they wish). We also need Traffic and Car Parking Marshalls for our Rummage Sale Days which take place on the last Sunday of each month from 1.30pm-4.30pm.
