Animal General Helper, Dog Walker, Animal Fusser are all integral to helping the welfare and happiness of our animals. Each animal team and role are slightly different and will be explained when we meet to discuss the roles.
Animal General Helper: Every day our animals are cleaned/mucked-out, fed, watered and checked for any health concerns/issues. This is undertaken in the morning before we open to the public from 1.30pm. We ask volunteers to arrive at 9am so they can assist with the cleaning/mucking-out, feeding, watering and other general tasks that must be undertaken within the individual animal enclosures. In the afternoon we undertake general ad-hoc jobs. These include enrichment, washing & drying the blankets, tidy up the storage areas, sort donations received for the animals, and most importantly spending good one-to-one time with the animals such as dog walking, cat fussing, bunny fussing and grooming horses.
