You would join the Board of Trustees who oversees the running of Ham and Petersham SOS as a charity. We are seeking to appoint two new trustees who will join our current board of six existing members.
You would join the Board of Trustees who oversees the running of Ham and Petersham SOS as a charity. We are seeking to appoint two new trustees who will join our current board of six existing members. In particular, we are looking to extend the range of specialist experience and thus strengthen our Board. All trustees are responsible for the ongoing good governance and management of the charity but additional skills which would be helpful to us include legal work and the ability to chair meetings. This is a very rewarding role for anyone who has an interest in supporting elderly and vulnerable adults who live within the Ham and Petersham area. Board meetings are held once a month, at present on Tuesdays at 10am.

We are looking for people of all ages with a heart for older and or disabled people. You will need to be reliable, friendly and approachable and have empathy, compassion and patience. Business skills would be an advantage as would experience within the voluntary sector, but life experience is more important to this role. You will need to be able to offer 1 to 2 days per month minimum.
So many people don't have family who live close to them. We connect people who want to help, with people who need help. It's a win, win. Those who volunteer feel more engaged with the people within their own local communities. And those people who ask us for help are able to get to appointments, see their friends and get out and about.
face to face meetings every 6 weeks and 2-3 hours inbetween via telephone, in person or zoom where appropriate
