The Deptford S. Paul’s Charity is looking for a trustee to join our board The charity aims to make a difference to the lives of those who live in poverty within the ancient parish of S. Paul’s Deptford.
The Deptford S. Paul’s Charity is looking for a trustee to join our board The charity aims to make a difference to the lives of those who live in poverty within the ancient parish of S. Paul’s Deptford. At the moment, our main activities include providing a regular monetary contribution to a small number of pensioners who are struggling financially, as well as providing Sainsbury’s vouchers to be dispensed by local charities and individuals who work with vulnerable people, particularly around Christmas time. The charity has seen a recent revival and is now looking to expand the board of trustees to look at new and innovative ways to alleviate poverty in the parish and how we can best serve the diverse and wonderful community. We want to ensure our board reflects the diversity of the community and rises to modern challenges affecting the local area. The main aim of the role of Trustee is to help make and influence decisions regarding the use of our funds. We would strongly welcome applications from those from ethnically diverse backgrounds, and those who have a legal or accounting background. Requirements: • To attend quarterly meetings at the Church of S. Paul Deptford • To contribute to a share of the workload that arises from meetings • To complete a DBS check Ideal Characteristics • A commitment to improve the lives of those in Deptford • An understanding of the difficulties faced by local communities and households affected by modern day poverty • A willingness to continue the existing work of the charity while offering ideas to ensure the Charity’s funds are used efficiently to meet the changing needs of modern Deptford
