Playclub General volunteer

Telegraph Hill Playclub

Telegraph Hill Playclub is a free, community‑run playgroup for under‑5s, and we’re always looking for friendly volunteers to help keep sessions running. Tasks include setting up activities, welcoming families, supporting play and story time, and helping with tidy‑up — all totally flexible, and many volunteers bring their little ones along. Whether you can commit regularly or just float in when you’re free, we’d love to have you.

Detailed Description

Telegraph Hill Playclub is a free, fun and inclusive playgroup for under‑5s and their carers. We’re a community‑run space, funded through venue hire and donations, and we rely on volunteers to help create a welcoming, playful environment for local families. Many of our volunteers bring their own little ones along, so we fully understand the need for flexibility. You’re always encouraged to do what feels comfortable and manageable for you. 🌟 What Volunteers Do Our day‑to‑day sessions run with the help of volunteers who support tasks such as: - Opening up Playclub alongside the playworker - Setting up craft and sensory activities - Preparing outdoor play areas, cars, and equipment - Running the food and drink kiosk - Making sure families are signed in - Supporting singing and story time - Helping with tidy‑up and closing at the end of the session You’re welcome to join in with any of these. Some tasks are easier with a little one in tow, and there are also behind‑the‑scenes jobs if that suits you better. 🕒 Time Commitment We welcome all kinds of volunteering styles: • Regular volunteers who come on the same day/time each week • “Floaters” who step in when they can or when we have gaps Typical timings: • Set‑up: from around 9:15am • Tidy‑up: between 12:00–12:30pm You can arrive and leave whenever you need to — flexibility is built in. 🎁 Perks of Volunteering Volunteers who support Playclub enjoy: • A Lewisham Local discount card • A free kids’ party at Playclub after 6 months of regular volunteering • First aid training when available 💛 Who We’re Looking For Anyone who enjoys being around children, values community spaces, and wants to help families feel welcome. No special skills required — just kindness, reliability, and a willingness to muck in.
