Lewisham Speaking Up
Oversee the financial health of a charity as Treasurer for the Board of Trustees of Lewisham Speaking Up, the independent advocacy charity for people with learning disabilities in Lewisham. A financial background is desired although experience working in the charitable sector is not essential. Board and Subcommittee meetings are online in the evenings via Zoom, 5 times a year. This is an unpaid role but you will be reimbursed for charity expenses, like travel and food where applicable.

- The ability to explain complex technical financial data to other trustees who have a learning disability and those with no financial background, is essential. - Proficiency in budgeting, cash flow monitoring and evaluating the financial viability of strategic plans. - Knowledge of QuickBooks desired but not essential.
Develop and refine skills - budgeting, financial forecasting, risk management and resource allocation. Working together with other people in running a charity. Serve and feel connected to a community. Opportunities to network with other organisations and peoples Personal growth and confidence building. Opportunities to be part of the activities of the charity. Volunteering will enhance any CV.
Board and Subcommittee meetings 5x per year each for around 3 hours per meeting. Away Day (a Saturday) and AGM meetings once a year.
