Audio News Dispatcher
Bromley & District Talking Newspaper Association
Join a friendly team of people who prepare and dispatch each weekly edition of the Bromley District Talking News, an audio newspaper for blind and partially sighted people. No experience is necessary.
Volunteers who take up this position will be part of the Copying teams who meet on Wednesday and Friday mornings. We start at about 9.00 am on Wednesday and 8:30 am on Fridays. The tasks include ensuring that USB memory sticks, with that week's news recorded on them, are posted to the appropriate people. Also, once the memory sticks are returned they need to be sorted and made ready for re-use. All volunteers are also encouraged to undertake additional tasks such as copying the USB memory sticks on high speed copiers and erasing them in preparation for re-use.
General & Helping
IT skills - basic
No experience is necessary, just common sense and simple office skills. Basic computer skills would be an advantage if you wish to progress in this role.
You will be joining a friendly team of other volunteers and will be invited to an annual lunch where all our volunteers have the opportunity for a get-together. There are other volunteering opportunities to become involved with once you are trained, such as editing, reading, and recording engineer tasks.
