Assisting with our free clothes and textiles mending workshops around Lewisham, help set up, sign people in and packing.
Assisting our lead facilitators to deliver free clothes mending workshops around the borough of Lewisham. We require assistance with setting up, packing away, keeping the space tidy and signing in attendees. Keeping the flow of people moving. If you have sewing skills we are more than happy for you to help attendees too, but this isn't a requirement. You may be asked how to thread needles and things like that by attendees. We are more than happy for you to volunteer if you want to use this opportunity to learn sewing and mending skills too! If it's not too busy you may have time to get on with your own mending too! The workshops happen roughly fortnightly. On some Saturdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. They happen in different locations all over Lewisham! Usually 10 - 2pm. You can volunteer at just one or a few, get in touch to let us know!

Managing and talking to people is the main skill! We want a volunteer who can control the flow of people if the workshop is busy. Signing people in and making sure people fill in feedback forms at the end. Helping us to maintain a tidy workspace and setting up and packing down the space efficiently. It's a bonus if you can sew and have the skills to advise people during the workshop. But, it's not required. We are happy for you to observe and learn from us too!
