Charlton Toy Library
The toy library runs 3 morning sessions in term-time for the under fives and their parents/carers. Members can borrow from a huge range of toys, books and safety equipment. As well as running the singing group there may be opportunities to help run the sessions, check and tidy the play area and assist the Outreach Worker prepare clothes and toys for her families. There may be opportunities to help with organising events held at weekends and in the evening too.
The toy library runs 3 morning play sessions in term-time for the under fives and parents/carers. We are looking for a volunteer to lead a singing session for our parents/carers and children on Tuesday mornings and/or on Thursday mornings. We currently have a singing session on Fridays. We would love to have singing on the other days we are open too!

Essential: Confidence to lead our parents/carers and children in a singing session. Good interpersonal skills, good communication skills, reliability, can work independently on own initiative. Desirable: , experience working with young children and knowledge of the needs of under 5s, experience of running singing sessions with children. Training can be provided through shadowing our Friday singing volunteer. The toy library has stay-and-play and loan sessions for under-fives. It can get quite noisy and chaotic. The volunteer would need to have a friendly, relaxed personality to fit in with our policy of being welcoming to all.
Training in Toy Library procedures will be given. We can supply job references for committed volunteers who attend regularly for a minimum of 6 months. We are a friendly, fun and sociable organisation to volunteer with!
