As a CareDogs Befriender Volunteer you will be matched with an older person to meet for a regular dog walk with your dog.
Want to do good with your dog? Then, please apply! You will be matched with an older person to meet them along with your dog for a regular walk and a chat. As a CareDogs Befriender Volunteer you will: - Have a dog that is friendly and excited to have a new friend - Be someone who enjoys meeting people and chatting - Be able to empathise with someone who may be experiencing social isolation - Be reliable and able to commit to regular walks with your befriendee - Flag up any safeguarding concerns you may have to your Community Coordinator - Send a short summary of your walk each week to your Community Coordinator - Have fun! Full training and one to one support from your Community Coordinator is provided. We want to end social isolation (with the help of dogs) and encourage intergenerational volunteering opportunities in local communities.

It's an amazing opportunity to give back to the community, help an older person feel less lonely and spend some time with a furry friend! Our team is extremely experienced in all areas that CareDogs covers. This means you'll receive the very best training and support. You will recieve reasonable out of pocket expenses. References will be provided after 25 hours of volunteer service.
