Head office/helpline volunteer

To assist us at the head office with admin and reception work, by helping to answer the calls and take referrals from professionals and clients.
The helpline volunteer will be the initial point of contact for enquiries coming through the BCWA helpline. The helpline volunteer’s role includes; - Identifying the service a client requires. - directing enquiries to the correct department - taking professionals and client’s contact details and passing them on to the relevant service/person - signposting callers to other organisations where appropriate - assisting with general admin duties - taking the lead on specified research projects relating to the collation of information, resources and services available.

Admin, IT Skills - good
Communication and listening skills, IT skills and good telephone manners.
"She will improve her listening and communication skills and learn about domestic violence sector". You would also benefit from any in-house or online training that we offer to staff and volunteers. "She may take the opportunity to accompany clients to court to learn about family law issues".
Minimum 1 day/week between Monday - Friday 9:00-16:30 for at least 6 months.
