Digital buddy

Could you help someone…….. · Use their smartphone, Tablet or laptop? · Set up an email? · Fill in an online form? Catbytes has been running digital drop-ins in Lewisham since 2014. We are looking for volunteer digital buddies to give support at our sessions. Please use the contact details below to find out more. We are not looking for IT experts, but people who are patient and can help someone fill in a form or set up an email account.

Detailed Description

Catbytes Digital Buddies help people who have limited digital access due to lack of skills or equipment. You might help someone learn basic digital skills, such as Whatsapping, using email, or online shopping. You could help them create a CV and search for jobs. You might help them fill in an online form, such as a Universal Credit application. Or you might help them delete photos to free space on their phone. Buddies do this work at our digital drop-in clubs, which run every week, all over Lewisham. These are social environments. Tea and coffee are provided, and there are plenty of other buddies to help you. This role does not required high technical knowledge. The main skill required is patience. We do not require a lot of up front commitment to take on this role. Typically we will invite you to try it out and see if you like it. We will always try to make sure you get to help someone on your first visit. Being a digital buddy is fun and rewarding. You will meet a great group of like minded people, get invited to social events, and get other opportunities to contribute and, if desired, improve your CV.

Time Commitment
