Art and Crafts Activities Volunteer
Holloway Neighbourhood Group
Have you got art or craft skills? Would you like to pass them on to others? We can give you the opportunity to plan and deliver taster or regular sessions as a way of helping local people relax, enjoy themselves and try out some new creative skills.
Our community centre offers art and craft activities to local people in order to help their wellbeing. You will help people to enjoy being creative by demonstrating and encouraging them to try arts or crafts. Many people will be complete beginners and others may know a little about your topic. You will plan and deliver a taster session or a short series of up to 4 sessions where you will show people how to take part in your activity. You will spend some time setting up the room, preparing materials and a small tea and coffee station. You will demonstrate your activity and help people to learn in a way that gives them confidence, encourages them to relax and to focus away from the distractions or pressures of everyday life. You will show how to take part safely in your activity. You will encourage everyone to take part in clearing away, cleaning their tools and equipment and looking after their materials. You will take part in a short de-brief with staff following the session.
