ACTIVITIES VOLUNTEER
Seniors In Touch (SIT)
SIT is an Exercise and Lunch Club for the over fifties. We aim to reduce loneliness, social isolation and promote healthy living. We meet every Tuesday 11am - 2pm at the Jubilee Community Hub, Thamesmead, SE28 8DU. The organised activities which members will participate in are expected to promote socialisation & rehabilitation of weak body parts, ease pain & sufferings, increase overall physical, mental well being, have fun & desire to come back next week.
The volunteer is expected arrange chairs and tables for members before and after every weekly sessions. He/she will work with Service Coordinator to develop/create and oversee weekly social activities for members. Activities are expected to stimulate new interests, skills and meet their needs. They are also to promote social , intellectual and recreational interactions among other members. Activity volunteer must be creative, cheerful and able to manage diverse groups of people.

Volunteer must be willing to work with people who are over 50 years and from different ethnic backgrounds. You will need to have a DBS Certificate
-Members will really appreciate the time spent with them, while volunteers will derive satisfaction from helping others - Volunteers will develop self confidence, communication skills and a sense of community -Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed + lunch -Induction, supervision and CPD training will be provided -Flexible volunteering hours
