IT Support Volunteer
The Holly Lodge Centre
We are looking for an IT Support Volunteer to join our small, friendly team of six (mostly part-time). We’re seeking someone reliable and flexible, with strong communication and organisational skills and a practical approach to problem-solving. You’ll be the go-to person for wider IT support, including setting up new users and workstations, and troubleshooting issues such as scanners or SharePoint connections.
The Holly Lodge Centre is an education charity based in the beautiful surroundings of Richmond Park. We specialise in providing outstanding workshops for schools and delivering bespoke sensory sessions for children and adults with special educational needs and disabilities. Our current IT support volunteer has been with us for over 10 years and is now looking to take a step back. Initially, we’re seeking someone to shadow and work alongside them to learn our systems, with the aim of taking on the role in the future. You’ll work closely with our small staff team, have occasional contact with the Chair, trustees and wider volunteers, and liaise as needed with The Royal Parks’ IT colleagues where infrastructure falls under their remit.

Good IT Skills
Formal qualifications aren’t required, but professional or personal IT experience will be very useful. We use Microsoft 365, so familiarity with this — and a willingness to learn the platforms and programmes we use — is essential. Experience or knowledge in the following areas would be particularly helpful: Managing Microsoft 365 and Azure environments (user accounts, security, provisioning) PC updates and IT troubleshooting ISP dashboard management Liaison with website developers Working with hardware and software suppliers Advising management on software and systems User support and guidance VOIP telephone systems SharePoint management Anti-virus configuration and management Installing and configuring software Internet and Wi-Fi setup Power Apps
We offer training sessions and events for our volunteers and have tea, coffee and biscuits to refresh and recharge.
This is an ad hoc role, but regular availability by email or phone is helpful for troubleshooting. On-site support is only required for specific issues or projects, though popping in around once a month is ideal for catch-ups and progressing larger pieces of work.
