Unit Helper - Girlguiding Bexleyheath Welling
Girlguiding Bexleyheath Welling
You’ll work alongside other volunteers to give girls fun, friendship, challenge and adventure.
Unit Helpers provide help to a variety of units across Bexleyheath and Welling, each meets on one weekday evening during term time. You can choose to work with: Rainbows (girls aged 4-7), Brownies (girls aged 7-10), Guides (girls aged 10-14) or Rangers (girls aged 14-18) You'll provide valuable support to the unit leadership team. There's no responsibility for planning or carrying out the programme in this role but you'll be key in providing the extra help needed to make unit meetings happen. Plus, you'll get to know the girls and other volunteers, and be part of the Girlguiding community.

You'll contribute to the development of the next generation of girls and young women. You'll be part of a supportive community of other adult volunteers. A unit meeting is typically 1.5hrs with time around that for setting up and tidying away. Units meet once a week in the evening during term time. Mandatory safeguarding training will need to be undertaken by volunteers in their personal time. There may be other support the unit needs outside of the unit meeting that the team will discuss with you as and when required.
