Could you give your time to an older person in Annerley SE20, or speak to someone over the phone? Our clients are Scottish and would really like to spend some time talking to someone with a connection to, or an interest in Scotland. Our client in Annerley has four wee pets; two friendly dogs and two cats. Phone calls and meetings are at times to suit. We provide training and ongoing support and pay out of pocket expenses. We will need two references, and an enhanced DBS check will be processed. for you. Your time and companionship will make our clients feel happier in their situations.

No experience is necessary, more importantly you will need: - to be reliable and committed, honest and trustworthy - a warm and friendly nature -to be a fluent English speaker for conversation, and a good listener - the ability to commit to regular weekly phone call, or a fortnightly meeting, preferably for 6 months or more.
We provide training to help you feel confident in the role, and ongoing support once you are matched. Two references are required, and an enhanced DBS check will be processed. Expenses for travel and refreshments can also be reimbursed. You will get to meet new people and potentially gain new skills. Befriending is a very simple activity, yet it can be extremely rewarding., knowing you are making a difference to our clients' emotional wellbeing. Our volunteers often stay involved for long periods, only because they enjoy what they do. In fact, your meetings and calls could be something that you and our client both look forward to. In return for your support, we can provide references for paid employment and offer additional training related to your role. We run social events for volunteers, reimburse expenses and will be on hand to support you throughout your volunteer journey. Meetings are normally one or two hours per week or fortnight at times to suit you and our clients, plus time to travel to the meetings. Phone calls are usually 15 minutes to one hour.

Interviews, training & support meetings are held in our office in Bermondsey or online. ScotsCare works across all London boroughs. We currently need someone to visit a client in London SE20 bi-weekly. or to make a regular weekly call from any quiet space in the home or workplace.
Your induction will be at our office in Bermondsey Street, a ten-minute walk from London Bridge station. Interviews and additional training can be run online or in our office.
