Games and entertainments organiser
Commonside Community Development Trust
A volunteer role for an outgoing, friendly adult who will make any activity session go with a swing and who enjoys working with older people.
We are looking for a volunteer who will enjoy coming regularly to our Centre to help organise games and entertainment for older people. This might be helping to set up and run a board-game morning or afternoon, running a fun bingo session, organising a quiz, using our large touch-screen to run quizzes or games on-line with groups of people, suggesting short videos to watch about health, or heritage or history etc and then running a discussion afterwards. The role requires someone who is both confident and enthusiastic, who enjoys working with older people and who will be friendly and welcoming. Ideally, they will also contribute ideas for programme activities and help us to source materials.

No formal skills are required - we will be delighted to meet volunteers who show enthusiasm and initiative and enjoy organising activities and getting feedback.
You will be regularly visitng and helping older people who use a busy community centre. The sessions will be light-hearted and we hope involve lots of laughing. This could be a real boost for someone looking for a new activity. We can also help people considering a career in health and social care to find training and map out their next steps.
What will work best is a variety of reliable volunteers who come in on a regular weekday, between 10am and 4pm, just for a couple of hours.
