Sourcing gardens for London Open Gardens/ Regular contact with a selection of gardens. Event support
As a Garden Coordinator you will be expected to keep in regular contact with a selection of gardens in a particular geographical area across London and oversee their involvement in LOG. Be present in gardens on both days of the event weekend. This year Saturday 7 & Sunday 8 June 2025. Attend the Delivery Group meetings. Where possible source a new quality, interesting or unusual garden in your area. Familiarise yourself with any activities being put on by gardens. Support the Event team by visiting your gardens. -Computer literate with access to email and the internet. -Knowledge of London is essential. -An interest in gardens is essential. Garden knowledge is not required but would be a bonus. -Proactive. -Tactful, persuasive, and diplomatic - able to give feedback in such a way that it encourages rather than dissuades gardens. -Administrative and/or organisational experience or project management. -Committed to the event and making it as successful as possible (minimum 1 year commitment required). -Act professionally in all dealings with gardens, visitors, and other volunteers. -A sense of fun and team spirit. -Supportive of the aspirations of LPG to recognise the historic value of gardens to protect them from future planning threats.
Garden Coordinators will receive complimentary membership of the London Gardens Trust. 2x Weekend tickets for your friends and family to enjoy. Agreed travel costs and other expenses will be met by the Trust (expenses to be agreed in advance). Early exclusive access to all gardens over the weekend and pre-event. A great exprience meeting like-minded people. Participation in a London wide event raising funds to protect Londons green spaces.
Applicants must be able to commit to volunteer time between now and August 2025. You will need to do independent work in your free time. Meetings tend to be held in the evenings, with no more that 8 online/remote meetings. You MUST be avaliable on 7 & 8 June 2025 and able to commit to both days of the event.

We are serching for 3 Volunteer Garden Coordinators, one for each area below: Area one - Wandsworth Area two - Bayswater / Marylebone / Little Venice Area three -Belgravia / Pimlico / Westminster It is usful if you are from the area or have knowledge of the area you would like to apply for.
This is mainly remote work but will include travel to gardens within the area you choose.
