Befriending Care Home Residents

Embracing Age

An opportunity to befriend care home residents, in care homes across the Borough of Richmond. This would be spending an hour a week with them. This can be simply chatting, playing a board game, whatever a resident may enjoy doing. Training given. Detailed Description

This is a exciting initiative to befriend older people in care homes, who can feel just as lonely, if not more, than older people living in the community. We're looking for people to volunteer in care homes across the Borough - full training and support will be given. It's an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of some of the oldest and most vulnerable elderly in our society. Ideally we'd like you to be able to give an hour a week to this rewarding task. Benefits: You'll get the satisfaction of knowing you have made a real difference in someone's life. You'll develop your communication skills and your empathy for older people. You'll be part of a team of like minded individuals and you'll receive ongoing support.
