Event support

Haven House Children's Hospice

We have fundraising events throughout the year both at the hospice and in the local area.

Detailed Description

We could not run these events without the support of our volunteers as it is not possible to have staff members attending and co-ordinating all of these. Helping could be assisting at one of these events in several ways which can include marshalling, meeting and greeting, setting up or clearing down or running a stand. In the community you may be asked to run an information stand in the local community or have an engagement stand with a small fundraising game.

Why these skills are required

No specific skills or qualifications are needed, however being a good communicator and confident in approaching others would be desirable. As the role is flexible you will need to be able to manage your own time to enable you to undertake the volunteering role.

What is in it for you

Volunteers will be provided with a Haven House t-shirt for events. At events on site you will be provided with refreshments throughout the day. You will be invited to two volunteer socials per year and also any ongoing training.

Time Commitment

It is a flexible opportunity and events come up all through the year. January- March can be quieter months but generally there is something once a month.
