Volunteer ESOL teachers and assistants to run classes for refugees, asylum seekers and migrants.
Volunteer ESOL Teachers to provide classes for refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in Lambeth. You will plan and deliver lessons independently with the assistance of experienced ESOL teachers. Your students will be from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and ages. We run classes from Monday to Thursday from 10 am until 12pm - volunteers can attend for one or more days per week. CELTA or other TEFL qualifications would be useful. Volunteers with no teaching experience are also welcome to join us as classroom assistants, supporting individual students who have low literacy.
Teaching & Training
Basic IT skills - internet & email, Language Skills, Organising & Planning, Reading & Writing
Must be fluent in English. No need for previous teaching experience but CELTA or a TEFL would be appreciated. Good communication and presentation skills both written and oral. Good team work skills and ability to relate well to staff and students.
You will benefit from the assistance of experienced ESOL teachers. You will develop your teaching skills from planning the lessons; identifying relevant teaching materials and delivering the lessons independently.
We need you to volunteer on a weekday morning from 10 am to 12 pm, either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
