Event Volunteer: Christmas in the Village

We're looking for volunteers to welcome families to the event and spread the Christmas spirit!
What happens at Christmas in the Village? Christmas in the Village is returning for 2024 and the programme features a Christmas Market, Santa's Grotto, Santa's horseback parade complete with elves, fairground rides, children's story time, music and dance sessions, face-painting, choirs, and a brass band. The day will be wrapped up with the switching on of the Christmas tree lights with sing-along carols.

No qualifications needed. We’re looking for volunteers who: • Work as part of a team and help create a friendly, sociable, and non-judgmental atmosphere. • Offer a warm welcome to people from various backgrounds and communities. • Ask for support when and where it is needed. • Feel comfortable liaising and taking direction from the Events & Fundraising team. • Follow our policies and procedures, attend relevant training sessions, and maintain appropriate boundaries.

How we support you You will be given a Wimbledon Guild point of contact who can help you with any questions or concerns that you might have. You will have the information, training, and resources you need to carry out your volunteer role. Can I claim expenses? We will reimburse you for reasonable out-of-pocket travel and refreshment expenses. All expenses must be agreed upon and signed off by the Volunteer Programme Team. We will only reimburse you for the amount agreed and payment will be made by bank transfer.
