Befriending Volunteer
Age UK Merton
Befrienders visit a client once a week in their homes for a social visit.
Do you want to make a real difference to an isolated and lonely older person in the community? Why not become a Befriender and visit one of our clients in their home every week for one hour. By providing 1 to 1 support to clients, you help to alleviate loneliness and isolation. Just chatting over a cup of tea can brighten their day! Some clients like to go on short walks thereby helping to keep them active. This role may include referring any issues back to the relevant staff member at Age UK Merton. The Befriending Service operates between 9am and 7.30pm, 7 days a week.
