Year 9 Here East Tech Stars Challenge
Inspire!
Volunteer as a judge at the Here East Tech Stars Challenge and help young innovators bring their ideas to life! Year 9 students from four East London schools have developed low and no-waste business ideas and are ready to pitch them to a panel of judges. Volunteers will watch team presentations, ask questions, provide constructive feedback, and help select the winning teams to progress in the competition.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEER JUDGES IN STEM! The Here East Tech Stars Challenge is an exciting inter-school competition designed to introduce students to careers in STEM and the opportunities available at Here East. Students have been tasked with designing their own low/no-waste business, which they will present to a panel of judges at stage 2, with the winners from each school progressing onto the final stage 3. VOLUNTEERS WILL: Judge one/multiple phases of the competition (whatever aligns with your calendar) Assess presentations, ask questions, provide constructive feedback and select a winning team Why get involved? Make a real impact by inspiring confidence and raising aspirations Help students develop teamwork, problem-solving, communication and presentation skills Inspire students to explore future careers in STEM What’s required? No experience needed – full training provided and Inspire will be facilitating the session and supporting on the day. Your support can help students unlock their potential and thrive!
