Inspire!
Volunteers will guide students aged 12 – 13 through an Enterprise challenge, helping them become entrepreneurs for the day. You’ll support interactive workshops and guide students as they develop business ideas. By sharing your education and career journey, you’ll help bring different career pathways to life, increasing students’ understanding of the world of work and building their confidence in their future ambitions.

Help young people become entrepreneurs for the day! On the 24th November 2026, from 8.30am – 3pm, Inspire are running an Enterprise Day for year 8 students from Clapton Girls’ Academy. Inspire’s Enterprise Days are full school day programmes where students work in teams to tackle a sustainable business challenge. Guided by volunteers, students develop a business idea, create a business plan, and pitch their idea to their classmates and volunteers at the end of the day. As a volunteer, you will support the delivery of interactive workshops and mentor students throughout the challenge. Sessions may include: 1. Introduction and team building 2. Introducing enterprise and sustainable business 3. Building my business 4. Public speaking skills 5. Present like a pro Throughout the day, volunteers also share their own education and career journeys, bringing different jobs/pathways to life and helping students understand how the choices they make at school and the skills they develop today can influence their future opportunities. By volunteering, you’ll help young people from more disadvantaged backgrounds develop confidence, teamwork, communication, problem-solving and presentation skills whilst broadening their awareness of different career pathways and the world of work. No prior teaching experience is required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to inspire the next generation. We will also hold an online volunteer brief around 2 weeks before the event, which will cover session content, logistics and safeguarding information. All materials will be created by Inspire.
Youth Work
Basic IT skills - internet & email
Willingness to work with young people (no prior experience working with young people required). Patience and positivity.
- Develop mentoring and communication skills. - Gain experience facilitating workshops and engaging with young people - Build confidence in public speaking and presenting to groups - Make a meaningful difference to young people from diverse backgrounds by supporting social mobility
