We’re holding a charity tournament to raise funds for sustainable projects in The Gambia and we need a first aider! The Role: Keep our players intact. Think the odd ice pack and ankle strap (hopefully!). Duties and responsibilities include: - Provide fast, effective first aid and emergency care to players, volunteers and attendees as needed. - Assess and manage on-pitch injuries (e.g., minor sprains, cuts, bruises). - Maintain a well-stocked first aid kit/station throughout the tournament. - Complete basic incident report forms for any injuries treated. - Coordinate with emergency services if a serious incident occurs. Requirements: Valid First Aid cert (FA Emergency Aid, FAW, Nursing/Paramedic student, or equivalent). When & Where: Saturday 5 September @ Mulberry Leisure Centre If you want to spend a day absorbing top tier grassroots football while keeping everyone safe then please reach out. What’s in it for you?: 1. Professional Development & CV Boost ● Hands On Experience: Ideal for nursing students, paramedic trainees or aspiring sports therapists looking to build real-world experience managing sports injuries, triage and pitch-side care. ● Official Reference Letter: A formal written reference on official CIC letterhead confirming their hours, reliability and clinical duties to present to future employers or university admissions. ● Public Social Media Shoutout: Dedicated recognition on your CIC’s social media channels highlighting their contribution as a key community partner. 2. Practical Perks & Expense Coverage ● All-Day Free Refreshments: Free access to hot food and cold drinks throughout matchday. ● Travel Expenses Reimbursed: Full coverage of their local transport costs (e.g., bus or tube fares) so taking part costs them £0. 3. Networking & Social Impact ● Local & Global Community Impact: The satisfaction of playing a direct, essential role in keeping players safe while raising funds for sustainable projects in The Gambia. ● Networking: Opportunity to meet and connect with local sports teams, community leaders, fellow medical trainees, and grassroots organisers across East London. ● Low-Stress Environment: A chance to practice skills, build personal confidence, and enjoy high-energy grassroots sports in a supportive, charity-focused setting.
