Detailed Description

We are looking for a crochet volunteer for our Together Better crochet group at the John Scott Health Centre near Manor House in Hackney. We have a lovely, friendly group of local residents coming every week. Our longstanding wonderful volunteer has found full time employment and we are looking for a sociable person who enjoys teaching and supporting our residents in their crochet journey. We have total beginners to very competent crochet participants who are looking to expand their skills. You will receive training and support from our community engagement care coordinator for this role.

Why these skills are required

We are looking for someone with good crochet skills who likes to teach local residents new skills or help them advance their skills. Good communications skills needed.

What is in it for you

All our volunteers receive volunteer training and supervision. We will also provide a DBS check. You will make connections within our community, build on your communication and social skills. You will work in an NHS setting, and make connections with other volunteers and participants in the Together Better programme. We also invite our volunteers to all our trips (about 4 - 6 a year)
